Beekeepers, the allies of the bees

September 12, 2019

The importance of bees to the ecosystem is undeniable. They guarantee environmental balance, impact the economy and improve the quality of life of many living beings thanks to their pollination process.

In addition to its ecological importance, it is relevant to mention the role of beekeepers who are dedicated to helping these little ones, offering them a safe place where they can carry out their life cycle.

Beekeepers care for, protect, breed and promote all elements for the development of bees. If possible, they work to obtain a benefit for the environment where the hives are located. Besides honey, there are other products that can be
obtained from bees such as beeswax, propolis, pollen, and royal jelly, which are recognized for their health and wellness benefits.

At Hip Hotel, we can enjoy the benefits of honey thanks to the jobón that we have placed in our hotel and that is monitored by our bee#keeper “Lalo”. He is our meliponcultor and comes from Chiapas, a southern state in México, from a long tradition of beekeepers.

He currently participates in programs to rescue and conserve native bees of Mexico and it is thanks to “Lalo”, that at Hip Hotel we have our program of conservation and sustainable development of the Mayan bee.
